Crypto Ticker Screen.

Overview.

Design and manufacture of an art installation including a crypto ticker screen displaying custom messages, live cryptocurrency prices such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc. We also developed a system to control 4 analogue trains and link their movement to the price variation of cryptos.

Challenge.

To create an art installation comprised of LED lightings to display currency values. The project required WiFi capabilities for live updates, as well as connecting to 4 hornby toy trains which move in conjunction to the price fluctuation.

Project details.

We designed a custom display of individually-addressable, RGB programmable, flexible LED strips. The total length and height of the LED screen is 240x80mm. The system is controlled by an Arduino and the signal is converted by a Raspberry Pi. The prices and variations of 4 cryptocurrencies are shown on the screen based on an API using a WiFi connection.
