Hybrid CHP.

Overview.

Today, micro-CHP systems overcome the challenges associated with the energy conversion of biomass. These micro-CHP systems struggle to meet variable electric demand, especially when implemented in an off-grid situation.

Challenge.

We proposed to develop a hybrid Li-ion storage technology that would allow us to store renewable energy to meet variable demand in electricity.

Project details.

We designed, prototyped, and manufactured all the components of the system, including: the energy storage system, the reactor, the gas cleaning system (to maintain appropriate gas levels for energy generation), the solid to gas particle separation system, and the automation control system.

We also provided a full-set of instructions for our client, including the installation procedure manual, the operating instructions, and the maintenance instructions.

Using biomass alone allows communities to source, transport, and use energy from their own sources.  Thanks to this project we helped our client and their consumers to embrace the circular economy principle and practice resource-efficient engineering.
